This is the home page for the Russian Far East Short-term Seminar. The seminar was funded by the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program, which enabled 12 professional educators to live and study in Vladivostok, Russia from June 28 to July 26, 2005. While in Vladivostok, the group studied at Vladovostok State University of Economics and Service. Courses in the Russian language, history, geography, economics, and politics were taught by Russian professors. Additionally, the group flew to Kamchatka where the it spent parts of three days in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskii, one of which was a day's excursion near the Avacha volcano. Also, the group traveled by train to Khabarovsk where, for three days, it learned about the area and city, and interacted with professional educators.

While in Russia, each person in the group gathered information about the Russian Far East. That information is located on this site. The information is meant for other educators and their students. Follow the links at the left to learn more about the seminar.
