Arkansas Curriculum Conference

This is the home page for the Russian North Short-term Seminar funded by the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program. Eleven educators and future educators (9 teachers, 3 students), lived and studied in Petrozavodsk and Murmansk, Russia for 4 weeks (June 10 - July 10, 2007). Courses were taken in the Russian Language, Geography of the Russian North, History of the Russian North, Economy of the Russian North, and the Environment of the Russian North. Tours to environmentally significant sites in Karelia and the Kola Peninsula were also part of the Seminar. Short stays in Moscow and St. Petersburg, at the beginning and the at the end of the Seminar, were helpful in placing the Russian North in its proper perspective.
