Siberian Seminar - 2004

I was very fortunate to have received a Fulbright-Hays grant to fund a Short-term, Siberian Seminar, which allowed me to take teachers from Moscow to Vladivostok. Our foreign experience began July 4, 2004 when we departed from Little Rock, Arkansas. We arrived in Moscow on July 5 where we overcame jetlag and prepared for our adventure through Siberia. As we traveled, we spent parts of four days in Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk. Our stay in Vladivostok was parts of three days. In each of those cities we participated in programs organized by our Russian hosts. The purpose of the Seminar was to enable the teachers to learn more about Russian culture and study the Russian language. Each teacher learned how to create a Web page and a PowerPoint presentation, and they developed four lessons, which are accessed from this site. The links below cover the entire experience beginning with three orientation meetings and ending with our participation in the Arkansas Conference on Teaching (ACT). Below you will find links to the orientation meetings, our stay in Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, the lesson plans and our ACT meetings. The button labeled "Movie" is a collection of video clips beginning in Moscow and ending in Vladivostok. You will need Windows Media Player installed on your computer to view it. Download Accelerator will help speed up the download!
